MLK, Jr. (Martin Luther King, Jr.) was for real. his crusade for equality happened in my lifetime. I remember how conditions were. from my youngest days, the joy of going to the public library was tainted. Seeing the drinking fountains that were labeled "White" and "Colored" which were only one example of discrimination and of segregation. We had a black nanny, Melissa Montgomery, an amazing person who helped shape our futures including our values and character. My mother took her to the court house to register to vote as the first black woman in Alabama history to do so but she was afraid to get out of the car. As children my sister and I could not understand the reasons behind segregation.
Later in my high school years, I attended an all white high school. Friday night football was an EVENT. Football in the south at any level was an EVENT! Yet even from our football stadium we could hear the cheers of the other high school nearby, the all black high school that we never knew existed other than hearing them cheer their team. We never played them. They were never even mentioned.
MCC believes in equality and unity. All people that God created should benefit from the medicinal mushrooms that God created. We take no credit, only point to Him for His grace in creating the "Kind of Herbs" called that because it offers so many beneficial properties. It is the most studied plant in history.
